Running

Putting one foot in front of the other for extend periods has never been my thing. I’ve always been a climber so, getting somewhere, usually with a heavy pack on, has usually been the objective. Speed not so much and distance definitely not…

However, moving to Quiros, and now living round the corner in Teverga with their wide-open spaces and incredible mountains, has made me re-evaluate and just recently I’ve been taking a delight in starting to run some of the hills.

You can follow me on Strava here: https://www.strava.com/athletes/2856093 or search for Casa Quiros.

My first race

My first race

After a rocky start over the last couple of years as more running based mates tried to convince me of the ‘fun’ of long steep hauls I’ve gradually come round and have entered a few local races. I’ll be detailing my ‘baby steps’ to becoming a runner here so follow me to see my progress and to get psyched to come and visit one of the best spots for running you’ll ever find…

And if you want to see the breadth of races available – if you like an organised day out – you can check out this website https://carreraspopularesasturias.com/carreras/
